Tobias Experience and Competencies
Following his apprenticeship as an automotive mechatronics technician, a degree in automotive engineering and a PhD (Dr.-Ing.) in manufacturing technology – during which he carried out fundamental research into a novel hot-pressing process – Tobias Montag has been supporting our team since the end of 2020.
He has been successfully applying risk management methods for many years, particularly FMEA. As a Six Sigma Green Belt, he is also highly skilled in agile working methods.
Born in Stralsund, Tobias Montag is married and has one son. In addition to his work at QMH, he also holds two teaching posts in micro-manufacturing technology and materials science.
Fun fact: whilst at school, he was the top student in the advanced computer science course in the former GDR. He is a practising Christian and is also politically active.

Personal way of working:
Tobias works in an analytical and structured manner, following a clear, systematic approach. His approach is to first gain a thorough understanding of the client’s requirements and specific circumstances, and then use this as a basis for developing appropriate and sustainable solutions.
Drawing on his experience in risk management, particularly in the application of FMEA methods, he combines in-depth technical analysis with a solution-oriented approach. At the same time, he works in an agile, flexible and responsive manner – qualities that are particularly advantageous in dynamic projects and changing circumstances. When working with others, he attaches great importance to collaborative dialogue and a clear, structured approach.
